DYLAN CARTLIDGE
It’s been two years since Brooklyn based Darwin Deez released his album Songs For Imaginative People, the follow up to his highly successful self-titled debut, and today the indie-pop renaissance man has shared a new single entitled “Kill Your Attitude” and announced a UK and Ireland tour.
A quintessentially Deez-esque tune of pop perfection, “Kill Your Attitude” has just debuted on BBC Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s “Hottest Record In The World”. This song is a sneak peek into Darwin Deez’s forthcoming third album, the details of which have yet to be announced, but is set for release this Autumn via Lucky Number.
“Kill Your Attitude is a song about interpersonal squabbling” says Darwin Deez of the new track. “I love to fight. To argue. I fought a lot with my mother growing up. Consequentially, it doesn’t feel like love to me if there isn’t fighting. But fighting itself is the opposite of love”.
Fans will have a chance to hear more new material at a string of European festival appearance this summer on top of a headline date to celebrate Lucky Number’s 10th Birthday party on July 23rd at London’s Village Underground. Tickets for October’s shows will go on general sale next Friday 5th June.

PELUCHÉ
Peluché have released their third single, ‘The Guy With The Gammy Eye’, via Speedy Wunderground (Steve Mason, Kate Tempest).

‘It’s dreamy and danceable, shimmery and sultry…’ • THE GUARDIAN
Renowned for its studio-to-pressing-plant fleetness, three-piece Peluché have achieved something of a feat by becoming arguably the ‘quickest’ ever Speedy Wunderground release.
In less than a week the label had received the track, caught the band’s eccentric live show, recorded the single at Dan Carey’s south-London HQ (all recording done in a day according to the time-honoured Speedy Wunderground ‘regulations’) and despatched the results to the pressing plant.
Peluché showcase reverb-laden, Felt inspired guitars to open ‘The Guy With The Gammy Eye’ – before a frenetic twisting and uprooting of their natural melody up heaves the track in all manner of mesmeric directions… which has so far earned the London band a Guardian Band of The Week, a launch via The FADER and a Q Magazine Track of the Day, amongst others.
Speaking on the Speedy Wunderground collaboration, Peluché offer: “Dan is a producer we’ve wanted to work with for ages – we all love his style of production. We were really excited when he came down to see us play and invited us to record at his studio. The song was recorded live, and on tape, which meant we didn’t have many chances to get it right! Dan really captured the energy of the song and played an unusual instrument called the Swarmatron, which is featured on all the Speedy Wunderground sessions and sounds like a swarm of musical bees flying over the track.”
Peluché (trio Rhapsody, Amy and Sophie) will also kick off Speedy Wunderground’s Summer Party, to be hosted at the Windmill, Brixton on August 21st. Also playing will be recent, fellow release-ees FEWS along with a secret headline act.
