Meet ‘Em – Marvin’s Revenge

Your friends and ours Marvin’s Revenge are back at Bodega at the end of the month for another swashbuckling rock show. We felt the need to meet ’em…

Hey guys! Thanks for dropping by for a chat. Could ya let us know who we’re chatting to and what your roles are in the band?

Hello. My name is Job Gregory and I play the acoustic drum kit for Marvin’s Revenge. Hi. I’m Ollie Moore and I play electric guitar in Marvins Revenge. My name is Luke and I’m the bass player and “singer”.

You’re getting geared up to bring a massive headline show to us on April 24th. How is prepping for that going, and what can punters expect from a Marvin’s Revenge live show?

Job: I think it’ll be a pretty standard show, expect new ones old ones
Luke: Sweat and tinnitus.

You have twangs of all sorts of different genres and influences in your tunes. Can you all agree on a favourite band or do you all have different influences that are all over the place?

Luke: I don’t think we ever agree on anything really, it’s The Beatles though.
Job: We are all different and it changes all the time but there is definitely some crossover. Personally for me at the moment, I’ve been listening to a lot of Tyler The Creator, Willie Nelson and LCD Soundsystem.
Ollie: I personally love listening to Captain Beefheart, Chat Pile and Massive Attack.

After your show with us on 24th April, what next? Are you guys having any other ideas about more recording? Festivals over the summer? Any other plans you can tease for us?

Job: We are taking a bit of a break from gigging but we will be doing other things instead…
Luke: We’ve figured it’s about time to stop being lazy and make an album.
Ollie: Other projects, as much writing as we can possibly do is always our priority.

You walk into a chip shop on a Friday night for a nice treat dinner. Money is no object. What do you order?

Job: I’d go for a pie. Luke is going to say a donner kebab or a burger with no cheese.
Ollie: Probably chips with curry sauce with a smashed pickled egg on top. Everyone despises that choice, particularly because the pickled egg is a rogue decision, but I think it is delightful!
Luke: Burger deal 3, no cheese, Dr Pepper

Decisive answers, thanks folks! Marvin’s Revenge come to The Bodega on Friday 24th April and tickets are on sale here.
