Wirksworth-born, Nottingham-based alt-rock three-piece Marvin’s Revenge return to the Bodega after a triumphant set at Paint by Numbers festival. Their third EP ‘Offer of Love’, released in October 2025, delves further into the band’s dark, grungy heart.
Marvin’s Revenge remains nostalgic for underground sounds, but forge their own identity, harnessing Pixies’ dark guitar melodies and emotive feedback, with the crunching riffs of classic Melvins and tinges of heavy-psych boosting the cryptic lyrical content.
Martyn Coppack from Echoes and Dust described their live sets as “life affirming, life endorsing.”
Marvin’s Revenge is Luke Eaton (bass and vocals), Job Gregory (drums) and Oliver Sammels-Moore (Guitar), who formed in Wirksworth, Derbyshire and now operate out of Nottingham.
They started 2023 by releasing their official debut EP, “Harry’s Redroom” and ended the same year by releasing the critically acclaimed EP ‘VR Porn’. In late 2024, they released a trio of songs with the single “Hugs from Grandma” which received national radio play on Radio X and BBC 6 Music.
Making a name as one of the most exciting new live alt-rock bands in the UK, they have headlined shows throughout 2024/25 in London, Bergen, Brighton, Manchester, Nottingham, Leeds, Sheffield and Liverpool after building a name supporting the likes of Heartworms, Fucked Up, Dittz, John, Cloudsurfers and The Telescopes.
They have graced festival stages at New Colossus festival (New York), Tramlines, Dot to Dot, Y Not, Focus Wales, Penny Lane Weekender and Hanwell Hootie.
The band closed their 2025 EP release tour with a self-promoted mini-festival at The Level in Nottingham, inviting their friends (and acts they admire) from the local scene to the stage with support from Swallowtail, My Psychoanalyst, Luxury Nan Smell and Sex Germs. The previous gig in 2024 resulted in the ‘Live at Saltbox’ album (which is available on Bandcamp).
