Ye Vagabonds are brothers Brían and Diarmuid Mac Gloinn. They started playing music together on the street in their home town in Carlow, until they moved to Dublin in 2012 and became known around the traditional Irish, blues and folk scenes in the city, playing folk songs as well as their own original material. Their blend of harmonic folk music is influenced by traditional Irish and European music, American old time, and the music of the 1960s folk revival.
The made their debut album in 2017 along with Alain Mc Fadden on harmonium, mandolin and banjo, and Nicholas Cooper on violin/viola. They recorded the album live in the Meadow, in Delgany, Co. Wicklow, engineered by Nick Rayner, and released it on their own label, Inglenook Records. Available to purchase on CD and vinyl via their website www.yevagabonds.com

Their second album The Hare’s Lament was released to critical acclaim on the 22nd of March 2019 via Rough Trade Records’ folk imprint River Lea, joining their friends Lisa O Neill and Brìghde Chaimbeul on the new label. The album is a collection of traditional songs learned from archives, recordings, friends and family. The album received several awards including Best Folk Album & Best Traditional Track at the RTE Folk Awards 2019, where the band were also awarded Best Folk Group 2019.
