Hot on the heels of supporting IDLES on their sold out show at Brixton Academy and the release of their second EP, Rabbit Wench, wych elm have today announced their first headline tour for April and May 2022. In addition to already announced appearances at Glastonbury Calling, Tredfest and 2000trees they will join the line up at Get Together Festival in Sheffield on Sunday 1st May alongside headliners Squid, Confidence Man and The Murder Capital. They will also headline shows at Heartbreakers in Southampton, YES in Manchester, The Bodega in Nottingham, The Sebright Arms in London and Strange Brew in Bristol.
The band released their second EP ‘Rabbit Wench’ in September 2021 with the singles ‘Scolds Bridle’ and ‘Executioner’ receiving enthustiastic support from Jack Saunders on Radio 1, Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music, John Kennedy on Radio X and KEXP in the US. The EP was well received pushing their total streams to over 2 million on Spotify.
Closing 2021 with a sold out headline show at Bristol’s The Louisiana off the back of the EP release and supporting on a run of shows with Crystal Palace two piece JOHN in October, the band have spent the last few years building an excited following with their macabre tinged, grungey indie rock.
