LEO STANNARD
Black Butter artist Leo Stannard is a 20 year-old singer / songwriter from Leicester who is rapidly picking up attention for his unique voice and percussive performance style.
The tiny village of Ragdale in Leicester provided the solitude for a young Leo Stannard to hone his craft and become the artist that he is today. Having been taught classical guitar since the age of 9, he’s developed his own, unique percussive style, taking hues from the likes of John Martyn, John Butler Trio and Ben Howard.
He released the highly rated ‘Free Rein EP’ in February 2016, produced by Rich Cooper (Mystery Jets, Billie Martin) and mixed in part by Grammy Award winning Anthony Kilhoffer (Kanye West, Rihanna, The Roots), the songs showcases Leo’s unique style.
Outside of the UK, Leo has built up an international following in Holland, Germany and Belgium and whilst also touring with platinum selling dance-act Rudimental. Leo is preparing to release the first single from his eagerly awaited and as-yet-untitled debut album due out in 2017.
