Welcome to the Class of 23! Here we’ll be taking you through some of the bands you need in your ears next year. Let’s start by taking a look at what’s going on across January and February, to get you out of your post Christmas blues.
Although January is a tad quieter on the gig front, we’re lucky enough to have The Cool Greenhouse joining us on the 19th Jan. With backing from Steve Lamacq’s Round Table, it’s definitely worth your while to come down and check them out if you’re a fan of the Brixton Windmill scene. Tight drums, clever guitars and stream of consciousness lyrics; what’s not to love.
February is packed with great gigs from start to finish, starting with PRIESTGATE on the 11th Feb. The Driffield ‘gothic trash’ five piece are a really exciting act right now, known for their cathartic live performances and fresh take on that eighties goth sound it’s set to be a good night. Perfect for blowing away the cobwebs of the January slump, or maybe we’ll keep a few cobwebs… for aesthetic purposes.
Next up we’ve got indie-punks Bilk hitting the stage on the 24th Feb. Don’t wear your nice shoes for this one because they’re not gonna leave the venue in good nick. With plenty of tunes about boozing and all the debauchery that accompanies it, the after party is bound to be good here. If that wasn’t enough for you, we’ve got Welsh punks Panic Shack carrying on the carnage Bilk started on the 26th Feb. Plenty of power chords this February, make sure you come down.
