⭕ Swim School ⭕

swim school are a four piece band from Edinburgh. Their sound is an amazing combination of indie music from past and present, their sound is the perfect mix of bands like The Cure, Slowdive, Foals & Wolf Alice.

At the start of 2020 swim school had a promising and exciting year planned, they’d just played their first ever headline show in Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s which they sold out months in advance. On top of this, the year before, the band played Scotland’s biggest music festivals TRNSMT, Belladrum & Tenement Trail – as well as supporting The Xcerts on a full UK tour showcasing them to a UK wide audience for the first time.

⭕ Scuttlers ⭕

Along side their influences of the Beatles & many rock bands of the 70’s, Scuttlers aim to to paint the canvas of guitar music with a new and refreshed brush. With lyrics discussing the current state of the world sung over overtly catchy melodies, there’s no denying that this band will make the list in the prestigious entity that is British Rock & Roll.

⭕ GRAYCE ⭕

Super soulful vocalist from NG. Recent release ‘The Bedroom EP’ is a standout treat emerging out of lockdown, packed with hypnotic beats, introspective songwriting and a sweet Bruno Major cover. Following shows last Summer at the Arboretum, we’re excited to welcome her to our upstairs venue for the first time in August.

⭕ Express Office Portico ⭕

Taking their name from the entrance to an old newspaper distribution office in the centre of Nottingham, Express Office Portico offer a unique modern-day spin on synth pop.
Attempting to blur the lines between mental and physical health, the experiences of the former that both singers Tara Freeman and Billy Townsend confront lyrically aims to draw focus to mental well-being. Their intertwining passages skating above a musically bright yet moody back drop attempts to engage and reassure audiences that difficulties can be overcome and personal mindsets can be changed. Express Office Portico consist of Tara Freeman (Lead Vocalist and Keys), Billy Townsend (Lead Vocalist and Keys), Reuben Tobolewski (Guitar), Ben Phipps (Bass) and Olly Walton (Drums). Their debut single, ‘I Like It Weird’, was released Friday 29th January 2021.
