TELEMAN

Teleman are pleased to unveil the first cut from their forthcoming second album (due Spring 2016). Produced by Dan Carey (Bat for Lashes, Kate Tempest, Nick Mulvey), ‘Fall In Time’ twists from its ominous beginnings into a soaring chorus “I want you / Can’t afford not to fight / I could be the darkness you’re trying to find / And you can build walls around every light / But everything falls in time”.

Following on from the stand-alone ‘Strange Combinations’ single earlier this year – also produced by Dan Carey – Teleman returned to Carey’s studio to start laying down new album tracks and saw the relationship blossom further as Carey took on full production duties for the upcoming second album.

Telaman’s frontman Thomas Sanders says of the new song: “Fall in Time’ was one of the most exciting songs to record with Dan Carey. It takes you on a journey from its very sparse, slightly sinister introduction into a pounding refrain. It has a strong repetitive element, which seems to be a feature of many of our songs. It’s funny how such a dark and heavy song can have an element of optimism to it.”

The quartet’s acclaimed debut album Breakfast (produced by Bernard Butler) was released in the summer of 2014, since then, Teleman have supported the likes of Blur, Suede and Metronomy as well as becoming a firm favourite of 6Music (they played the radio station’s second festival earlier this year).

TELEMAN

Teleman are a 4-piece comprising Hiro Amamiya, Peter Cattermoul and brothers Tom and Jonny Sanders. They formed off the back of a handful of demos that Tom had made at home and quickly caught the ear of producer Bernard Butler as well as cult-indie label Moshi Moshi Records. The fruits of this collaboration took the form of a single – Cristina / In Your Fur – released in January on Moshi Moshi to cross-the-board critical acclaim. A BBC 6 Music playlist and a handful of sold-out London shows lead to festival bookings at most of the key UK festivals. Their sound has been described as Robert Wyatt meets Pet Shop Boys meets The Velvet Underground. A confusing reference maybe, but one, which probably reflects the uniqueness of their sound. A second single is due for release in June and the band are finalising their debut album with Bernard for release later in 2013.

plus guests: GENTLEMEN

Originating separately from the UK, Italy and Australia, Gentlemen connected through their shared love of the noir and the unknown. Their formation in 2012 and release of Night Reels I was the beginning of a journey which had them quickly receiving nods from the likes of The Guardian, Zane Lowe and The Fly.

Producing their latest EP themselves in Ireland, they became immersed in the progressive and jazz sounds of the 70s, finding kinship in artists like George Duke, Todd Rundgren and Pink Floyd. Their sound grew with the passion of its forebears before returning to London as a new sonic phenomenon.

Now with its espousal tracks ushered in by the glorious bombast of ‘Gentle Duke’, Gentlemen’s beautifully kaleidoscopic vision comes fully into light.
