ISLAND have returned with new single ‘Just That Time of the Night’.
‘Just That Time of the Night’ is the first piece of material to be taken from a forthcoming EP from the four piece, which will be released early next year via Beatnik/Frenchkiss.
Speaking about the track, ISLAND said: “Your night is winding down, everything is starting to feel a bit weird. Disconnected from your surroundings and the people around you. It’s just that time of the night.”
The single comes in the wake of the band’s acclaimed debut album Feels Like Air, which was released earlier this year and included the singles ‘Ride’, ‘The Day I Die’ and ‘Try’.
The track ushers in a new direction for ISLAND, maintaining the atmospheric undertones that resonated through their debut, but taking things to effortless new heights, harnessing their remarkable ability to transport you to a specific time and place through delicately balanced layers of instrumentation and powerhouse, emotive vocals.
Today also sees ISLAND announce an intimate UK headline tour, which includes a night at Islington Assembly Hall, and comes in the wake of the band selling out KOKO earlier this year. The band will also be heading out to the US in spring 2019 for a run of shows, including performances at SXSW.
