Fresh from their sell out O2 Academy show, Whitley Bay four-piece Lisbon are excited to unveil details of their brand new single ‘I Don’t Know’, out on 30th March. Produced by Foo Fighters producer Gil Norton at the legendary Rockfield studios, ‘I Don’t Know’ detonates into a true alt-pop anthem. The pulsing drums and enigmatic guitar/synth combos flow into a chorus so hooky, you’ll be shouting out the lyrics with both hands in the air. Lyrically the song illustrates the stark transition from pessimism to optimism, journeying into the unknown – risking it all in search of happiness.
Hailing from the coastal town of Whitley Bay near Newcastle, Lisbon have already drawn a considerable fan-base in their native North, selling out sizable venues such as The Sage Gateshead, Riverside, and now the O2. Their immensely catchy first single ‘BLUELOVE’ picked up an unprecedented amount of national support, featuring on Radio 1 as BBC Introducing’s Track of the Week. Follow up singles ‘Rio’ and ‘Natïve’ also received regular spins from Greg James and Huw Stephens.
With over a million plays across all platforms for their previous single, to say that there is anticipation for this new song is an understatement. 2014 was an incredible year for this young band, but with the release of their debut EP, 2015 is sure to be even better!
